Tobacco companies are now spending almost $189 million annually to market their products to a mainly youth audience. The record $142.1 million effort is up by nearly a third from last year. By comparision, Arkansas now spends $17.6 million a year on tobacco education. Arkansas is ranked seventh best in the nation in steering tobacco settlement monies toward tobacco caused problems.
